HQRP 20A Solar Panel Power Battery Charge Controller / Regulator 12V / 24V 20 Amp 300W with Remote Meter & PWM charging mode plus HQRP UV Chain / UV Radiation Health Tester
Product Description
HQRP Solar Charge Controllers are high quality, efficient and reliable Solar Power Regulators. They are perfect for rural electrification system. They offer a lot of possibilities and benefits. LCD display: all systems parameters in digital value, system status as symbols; Intelligent software control; PWM charging mode; Battery type option; Battery Ah setting; Over-load, short circuit, polarity reverse protection, electronic fuse; Temperature compensation setting; Modify parameters through four keys. Solar Controller supports up to 300W of 12V Solar panels and up to 600W of 24V Solar panels. For 12V solar panels, please, use battery and load for 12V solar systems (For 24V solar panels, please, use battery and load for 24V solar systems). HQRP UV Chain / UV Radiation Tester: To know the Solar UV Index, it is enough to compare the colorchange with the 4 standard colors around. Very light purple: low intensity, UV index 1-2. Sun-protection not necessary. Light purple: medium intensity, UV index 3-5. Sun-protection is recommended. Purple: strong intensity, UV index 6-7. Sun-protection is necessary. Dark purple: very strong intensity, UV index 8-11. This tester shows you the level of UV radiation and helps you protect your eyes and skin from negative sunlight effect, but this meter doesn't show sunlight intensity for solar panels.

I'm not sure who makes this or where it's made, but my guess would be China. I can only guess because it came with absolutely no documentation or instructions in a plain brown box. That said, it's fairly simple to hook up and it does seem to work as a basic charging regulator. The display/control module is difficult to read since the LCD display doesn't seem to have any contrast adjustment, or if it does I haven't found out how to adjust it. There are four buttons on the control module but all I've been able to do with them so far is toggle between monitoring the battery pack voltage and monitoring the solar panel voltage. It looks like it should allow a choice of battery type and capacity, but I haven't been able to change that from where it's defaulted at. I wouldn't buy this again, and wouldn't recoommend it for anyone who seriously needs a good charge controller.
