i purchased this magnet for a project at my school, the magnet we had was not powerful enough. This was almost too powerful, and ended up breaking most of our existing materials. The 230 lb lifting force is no joke, it will pull things to itself and pull itself toward metallic things. Of course i didnt throw the magnet away ;). This magnet is very impressive, and i would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a really powerful magnet. Make sure you plan what youre doing with this thing, and map out where youre going to store it and move with it. One of my friends ended up bleeding when it pinched him, but he is pretty soft.... Excellent Product

If you want to start owning powerful magnets, this one is a must. Too strong to be a toy, but after hurting yourself and spending enough time learning about how to handle this magnet, it's a great tool and a lot of fun. These magnets seem to have a death wish, like a man swinging a hammer at his own head, these magnets will pull hard objects into their brittle, chalk like bodies. I would recommend spraying on a coat of rubber. It is cheap and makes life less stressful. Great product, great service.

dangerously strong. definitely not for kids. i use it just to play with other smaller magnets. i wouldn't recommend putting 2 of these close to each other
