I bought this stool looking for an adjustable height shop stool. As far as that goes, so far it is fine. It has a few inches of adjustable height, would be nice if it went lower, but I think the height and adjustment it does have is pretty standard. To go lower, get more range of travel etc, you have to look into products costing several times the amount of this one. Easy assembly, the wheels are fine and as you would expect, they roll around, don't stick, but will get stopped by anything small such as a cord, just as any other stool with wheels of this size would.The reason for my unfavorable rating is the seat pad. The foam has so little density to it that after using it for the first time I have impressions in the vinyl of the seat from sitting on the mounting bolts that the foam completely compresses around. I'm only 155 lbs so it's not as if I'm an above average weight or anything. You can just place your hand on the seat pad and compress the padding all the way down to the base with ease. To make this thing worthwhile and not uncomfortable to use the seat is going to need to be removed and a higher density foam pad put in, or you'll have to place a folded up towel or something else on the seat so you aren't always sitting on bolt heads.

I bought this chair from Harbor Freight for $25...There is only a few inches of height adjustment, the wheels roll well... just a very basic chair.

We got this for our 15 year old autistic daughter because she loves to scoot around on anything with wheels but is very hard on products. This is great because it is made for use in an auto garage so is very durable. scoots on carpet pretty well too!
