Remote temperature probe for use with the ProStar, TriStar, and all other Morningstar controllers that can use a battery temperature probe. For use with the ProStar the leads must be soldered to the circuit board, the TriStar is provided with a terminal strip for connection.

But, the unit came with one already so I sent this one back. Really hard to review something like this as well, it had a nice quality ring terminal as well and it works.

Last year, I used a Tristar T-60 to keep the batteries charged during the winter. Using hydrometer readings showed that they were usually always at a medium charge level. With the RTS, this winter, the the readings show a higher state of charge in general.

I know that it isn't mandatory but it seems that this should just be included. But alas, it isn't and this does what it is supposed to after you solder it to the controller board. Good thing I know how to solder.
